Episode 78: "Confessions of a Chronic 'I'll Start Over Monday' Girly"

If you’ve ever said, "I shouldn’t eat this," "I’ll start over tomorrow," or "I’m being bad," — this episode is for you.

This week, Sami dives deeper into the patterns that keep binge eaters, emotional eaters, and chronic overeaters stuck in cycles of guilt, shame, and self-sabotage. She breaks down the different types of dysfunctional eating habits, calls out the toxic thoughts we've all been taught to believe about food, and reminds you why none of this means you're broken — it just means your brain learned some faulty habits.

If last week’s sneak peek into the Break Up With Binge Eating course lit a fire in you... just wait. That was only the beginning.

This conversation will help you recognize yourself with compassion, understand why willpower isn’t the problem, and get excited for the full transformation waiting for you inside the course.

You're not alone — and you don’t have to stay stuck.
Listen in and start your journey toward real food freedom.

Episode 78: "If You’ve Said These Things About Food... You Need to Hear This"

🎙️ INTRO
Hey beautiful people, welcome back to Pretty Is As Pretty Does!
I’m your host, Sami, and if you caught last week’s episode, you know we did something special. We cracked open the door and gave you a sneak peek inside the new course I’m building — a course that’s literally going to change the way you think about food, about urges, and about your relationship with yourself.

We talked about the real truth behind binge urges — how they’re not a character flaw, not a sign that you’re broken, but simply a habit your brain has practiced over time. And we talked about how retraining your brain — not shaming yourself — is the real path to food freedom.

If you missed that episode, pause right here and go back to Episode 77 — trust me, you’ll want that foundation before diving into today’s conversation.

🎙️ SEGMENT 1: Setting Up Today’s Topic
Because today?
Today, we’re going even deeper.

We’re going to talk about different types of eaters — binge eaters, emotional eaters, overeaters — and the broken food narratives that keep so many of us stuck in shame, guilt, and self-sabotage.

I bet some of these sound familiar... and if they do, listen up, because this episode is for you.

🎙️ SEGMENT 2: Different Types of Eaters
You might recognize yourself as one or even several of these:

  • The Binge Eater: You feel fine all day, maybe even "good" about yourself... until that urge hits. Suddenly it’s a free-for-all. You tell yourself, "Whatever, I already messed up, might as well keep going."
  • The Emotional Eater: Stress? Eat. Sadness? Eat. Celebration? Eat. You use food to numb out, tune out, or try to fill something that feels missing inside.
  • The Chronic Overeater: You're not technically binging, but you’re constantly grazing, constantly "a little too full," constantly feeling low-grade guilt about food.
  • The Restrictive Eater Turned Rebound Binger: You spend days, weeks, or even months restricting — trying to be "good" — and then eventually your body and brain rebel, and you lose control.

ALL of these patterns?
They all come from the same root: a dysfunctional relationship with food, fueled by guilt, shame, perfectionism, and misunderstanding how your brain works.

🎙️ SEGMENT 3: Common Thoughts That Keep You Stuck
Let’s break down the mental scripts that almost every dysfunctional eater has said at one point or another:

  • "I shouldn’t eat this."
  • "I’m being bad right now."
  • "I’ll start over tomorrow."
  • "I was good all day until dinner."
  • "I already ruined it, so I might as well finish the whole thing."
  • "I’ll be extra good tomorrow to make up for this."
  • "I can’t trust myself around [insert food]."
  • "I have no self-control."
  • "Why can other people eat normal and I can’t?"
  • "Maybe I just need more willpower."
  • "I’ll be happy once I lose weight."

Sound familiar?
Yeah. Because you’re human.
Because diet culture taught you to moralize food.
Because your brain learned habits it thought were helping you.
Because you were never given the right tools to build a peaceful relationship with food.

But here’s the good news:
You don’t have to live in these cycles forever.

🎙️ SEGMENT 4: Sneak Peek Reminder + Course Promo
If you felt a ping of recognition hearing any of those thoughts...
If you’re tired of feeling stuck, guilty, and out of control...
If you want to finally feel at peace with food, with your body, and with yourself...

You’re exactly who I built my new course for.
(And if you loved last week’s sneak peek? Babe, that was just the tip of the iceberg.)

Inside the full Break Up With Binge Eating course, I’m going to teach you:
✅ How to retrain your brain out of binge urges
✅ How to rewire your relationship with food, no more guilt trips
✅ How to stop living in the "all or nothing" cycle
✅ How to trust yourself with food again
✅ And how to finally step into the identity of a normal, peaceful eater.

Enrollment details are coming very, very soon.
So make sure you’re following the podcast, connected to me on social media, and ready — because this is the course I needed years ago when I was stuck in those same food prison cycles.

🎙️ OUTRO
You’re not broken.
You’re not hopeless.
You just need a better roadmap — and I’m building it for you, step-by-step.

Get ready, babe. Big things are coming.
And in the meantime?
Treat yourself pretty. 💖

See you next week!
